SettleBunk is a SaaS platform built to modernize how student hostels and shared residential communities manage utility bills, communal expenses, and payment collection.

The platform replaces spreadsheets, manual calculations, cash collection, and fragmented communication with a centralized digital ledger. Hostel administrators can onboard their communities, define rooms and occupants, configure service charges, choose how costs are distributed, and monitor payments in real time from a single dashboard.

A core component of SettleBunk is its automated utility allocation engine. Service charges can be distributed using flat, per-capita, or custom allocation rules, with multi-occupancy rooms automatically accounted for. This removes the repetitive calculations that traditionally create confusion and disputes between hostel managers and residents.

SettleBunk also introduces a public transparency portal where students can view room-level payment information and understand how communal charges are being allocated. Each resident receives a personalized payment experience and can access their own transaction history, outstanding charges, and receipts.

Payments are integrated through Paystack, allowing students to settle charges through cards or bank transfers. Once a payment is received, the ledger updates automatically, giving administrators an up-to-date view of collections without requiring manual reconciliation.

Another key feature is Predictive Energy Analytics. Hostel managers can record energy-unit purchases, after which the system calculates consumption rates, estimates when available energy will be depleted, and generates low-energy alerts. This turns utility management from a reactive process into a more predictable operational workflow.

The platform also includes a facility support ticketing system, allowing students to report maintenance issues and administrators to track requests from Open through In-Progress to Resolved. This creates an auditable workflow for facility management instead of relying on informal messages or verbal reports.

To reduce manual follow-up, SettleBunk provides automated WhatsApp and email notifications, including payment reminders before deadlines, ledger updates, and predictive energy alerts. Persistent defaults can also be escalated through the platform.

From an engineering perspective, SettleBunk brings together financial record keeping, automated allocation logic, payment infrastructure, notification systems, predictive analytics, multi-tenant hostel management, and operational workflows into a single product.

The result is a digital infrastructure layer for student housing that gives administrators greater control over collections and expenses while giving residents something equally important: a clear, transparent record of what they owe, why they owe it, and where their payments went.
